Meet Dr. Ramtin Nassiri, DDS, MSD

Dr. Ramtin K. Nassiri leads orthodontic care at GV Smiles in Fairfield, and his goal is simple: high-quality orthodontics that fit the whole person, not just the teeth. With more than a thousand orthodontic patients treated and over a decade caring for children, he brings deep experience and a genuinely hands-on approach. He gives personal attention to every patient at every visit.

His path to orthodontics is unusual, and it shapes how he practices. Dr. Nassiri earned his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley, double-majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science, and then worked as a refinery engineer for Chevron. Drawn to patient care and to a profession where he could serve his community, he changed course and pursued dentistry at UC San Francisco, graduating with honors in the top tier of his class and earning numerous awards and scholarships. He went on to the orthodontic program at the University of the Pacific, earning his Master of Science in Dentistry and his orthodontic certificate, and posting the highest score among his co-residents on the written orthodontic board examination. He is board eligible.

After dental school, Dr. Nassiri cared for children and young adults with disabilities at La Clinica de La Raza, Salida Surgery Center, and the Pediatric Dental Initiative, and served as a clinical instructor at the UCSF School of Dentistry. He has treated more than 3,000 children, including complex cases under general anesthesia, as well as more than 1,000 orthodontic patients of all ages. He has contributed to research and lectured on biomaterials.

A Comprehensive, Airway-Conscious Approach

Dr. Nassiri believes a healthy, beautiful smile comes from looking at the whole picture. He evaluates the face, airway, skeletal structure, periodontal health, and the teeth together when choosing the right plan for each patient. He favors non-extraction treatment whenever possible and uses extraction or surgical options when they yield the best results, aiming for balanced faces, full smiles, and healthy bites. Airway awareness is part of that comprehensive evaluation, not the whole of it, which is exactly how he wants families to experience care here: thorough, modern, and centered on what each patient actually needs.
