MEET DR. CHANG
Dr. Chang was born and raised in sunny Southern California. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at UC Irvine before moving to New York City. There, he completed his dental education at Columbia University, and was highly involved with student government, curriculum development, and volunteering in the community. Dr. Chang was a recipient of the American College of Dentists Outstanding Leadership Award, reflecting his commitment to be a leader in the dental profession. He completed an intensive two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he received specialized training in comprehensive dental care for both healthy and medically-compromised children. Dr. Chang is passionate about providing preventative-focused quality care to his patients and their families.
In his free time, Dr. Chang enjoys exploring new cities on foot, staying active with fitness and biking, attempting new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Dr. Chang's Educational Background:
Dr. Chang received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Business Management from UC Irvine before attending Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he enjoyed mentoring others and volunteering in the community. He completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. During this residency, he gained advanced training in behavior management and working with the special needs population. The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore equipped Dr. Chang to collaboratively work with other pediatric specialists to deliver comprehensive care to a highly diverse population.
Dr. Chang has always had a passion for leadership and community service. While in dental school, he served as Student Government President and was involved with the admissions committee and various mentorship programs. Dr. Chang organized and volunteered at many school and community events that focused on children's oral health. He also volunteered with KIDS International Dental Services, working with a team of other dentists to provide dental care to children in rural areas of Cambodia. With LiveUp, a non-profit organization focusing on mentorship of adults with Down syndrome, he facilitated the development of social skills, independence, and money management in this special needs group.
